| Kidnapped woman recovered; accused arrested from Jammu Airport | | |

REASI, June 22: Reasi Police has recovered a kidnapped woman and also managed to arrest her abductor from Jammu Airport today.
Acting on a written complaint lodged by Mohd Riaz on May 31 stating therein that his wife (name withheld) is kidnapped by one Mohd Asif , son of Mohd Salim of Panasa, Reasi. Acting promptly upon the complaint a case FIR no 123/2021 U/S 366 IPC was registered in police station Reasi and search of woman was launched in Reasi and other possible areas. All sources of police were activated.
Statements of family members of the woman were also recorded in the investigation.
After developing information from available clues regarding their presence in Ludhiana area of Punjab, SSP Reasi Shailender Singh constituted a special team headed by one officer of Sub Inspector rank for recovery of the lady. Police team left for Ludhiana during the first week of this month but couldn’t zero upon the target due to hurdles of lockdown and pandemic conditions.
Putting up continuous efforts a team of Police Station Reasi today successfully zeroed upon the target regarding the presence of the accused along with the kidnapped woman in Jammu.
Utilizing all available means with strenuous efforts, the investigating team arrested the accused from Jammu Airport and recovered the woman from his custody.
After fulfilling the medico-legal formalities of the recovered woman, further investigation of the case is in progress.
Family members of the recovered woman expressed gratitude for strenuous efforts put forth by Reasi police in rescuing the lady. |
