Overcome hesitancy to fight Covid
6/22/2021 11:57:42 PM
It’s high time for people to overcome vaccine hesitancy and realize the importance of getting a COVID-19 jab.
On Monday nearly 75 lakh vaccine doses were administered across the country and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi lauded the feat as “gladdening” and asserted that the vaccine remains the strongest weapon to fight the disease.
“Today’s record-breaking vaccination numbers are gladdening. The vaccine remains our strongest weapon to fight COVID-19. Congratulations to those who got vaccinated and kudos to all the front-line warriors working hard to ensure so many citizens got the vaccine. Well done India!” PM Modi wrote on twitter.
The second wave of COVID-19 has relented. It has provided an opportunity for the people across the country to come forward and get vaccinated. During the past two-years one thing has been proven beyond doubt that COVID vaccines are the only way to fight the deadly virus. Till date no medicine has been manufactured to treat COVID-19 and the vaccines only can lead people to develop herd immunity.
The Centre has taken over the inoculation drive from the States/UT governments and the move seems to have worked out. All the adults across the country can get vaccinated without paying any money. This step will help the poor people to a great extent as it won’t put extra burden on them.
Rumour mongers who used to claim that the vaccines are not safe have been proven wrong as the millions of people who have taken the COVID-19 jabs across the world are safe and sound and only a miniscule population has reported minor side effects.
During the second wave of COVID-19, the people who were vaccinated didn’t develop any severe complications and most of them got well within their homes. Need to hospitalize the vaccinated people didn’t arise.
People of Jammu and Kashmir need to give up the hesitancy. The Centre has made the vaccines available everywhere and the issue of shortage too has been addressed. Health workers are trying their best to reach out to the far-flung areas and vaccinate the people. In a few places they have faced rude behavior also but they have remained firm on their resolve and are carrying out their job sincerely. People need to respect these COVID-19 warriors and make the vaccination drive successful. Getting inoculated is the only possible way to fight the predicted third wave.
