| 100 year old Nag Temple inaccessible | | Road unconstructed, devotees face inconvenience | |  Ankit Kessar

Rajouri, June 23: A 100-year old Nag Devta Temple at Chhajja in Sunderbani tehsil here is inaccessible as the road leading to it is in dilapidated condition.
The temple is situated in Thandapani area. “People have strong faith and religious sentiments for this place. Biannual congregations are held every year where thousands of the devotees reach to take blessings of the Nag Devta,” locals said.
Due to non construction of the road, people face huge difficulties to reach the temple. “Around 100-150 meters of stretch, which is linked to the main area, has not been constructed,” they added.
Till date many representations have been sent to the concerned authorities but no one has paid any heed towards our request to build this road,” they said.
Locals appealed to the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri to visit the Nag Temple personally to assess the ground situation.
Meanwhile, when Early Times contacted the ADC Sunderbani, he said that he would look into the matter and appropriate measures will be taken. |
