Early times report

Udhampur, June 29: A divorcee widow from Jallandhar Punjab on Tuesday alleged that she was cheated by a Udhampur man from another religion and later dumped.
The woman while addressing a news conference here said, “My old classmate, whom I was in touch through what’sup, met me in Jallandhar and told me that he wanted to get her mother treated in a hospital. I helped him.”
She said, “I told him about my divorce and the death of my former husband. He convinced me to get married to him as he wanted to keep me secure. He assured me that he won’t force me to change my religion. Soon after the marriage was solemnized they changed my name, I objected but they told me it was just a formality. Later they performed the marriage ceremony as per my traditions and beliefs, till then everything was fine.”
The woman alleged, “After getting married my husband’s father asked me to maintain physical relations with him with my husband’s consent. Even my mother-in-law tried to counsel me for the same but I opposed it following which I, along with my husband, shifted to Kunjwani Jammu.”
She said, “We stayed together for nearly a month and during that time also my husband tried to convince me that I should accept his father’s proposal but I kept on refusing. One fine morning he disappeared from our rented accommodation.”
“ I contacted his family members in Udhampur but they refused to provide me with any details and told me if anything happens to him I will be responsible.
I lodged a missing complaint in a police station and on the very next day my husband uploaded a video on facebook along with his first wife and children stating that he has come for an outing with his family and is not missing,” she said.
The woman said that from that very day her husband is threatening and is blackmailing her. “He has my videos and pictures and keeps on threatening me that if I open my mouth, he will upload these on social media.”
The woman demanded stern action against him for “using and then dumping her.”
