Vaccination teams face tough time in Kishtwar

Kishtwar, June 29: Vaccination teams assigned with the job to carryout inoculation drive in this frontier district faced tough resistance from some people in Drabshallla and Nagsini blocks on Tuesday.
As per the details available with Early Times, in Drabshallla block team led by BDO Drabshallla Sobia Shad along with officials of Health Department started door to door campaign for vaccination of the left out people in the block, but the team faced tough time in Panchayat Pora Chandali where some people refused to get vaccinated while some of them hid themselves forcing the team to return.
The team members, according to the sources, also faced abuse at some places.
Similar incident was also reported from Nagsini block of the District where team lead by BDO Nagsini Abhey Indu Sharma, VLW Ajaz Butt and others faced resistance from some people at Padyarna. The visiting team though managed to motivate majority of the people for vaccination, but a few people outrightly refused to get vaccinated .
Meanwhile, DC Kishtwar Ashok Kumar Sharma has urged public to go for vaccination added that those refusing to get vaccinated will be booked since they can become the cause for spreading in future.
He said that district administration has acted tough to the violators who created hurdles in the implementation of COVID safety measures viz a viz not wearing face mask at public places,not following social distancing at market places besides not following vehicle capacity guidelines etc during the Lockdown and post lockdown period of second surge of pandemic.
Besides he appealed the public to continue following the COVID appropriate behaviour as the threat of COVID 19 pandemic is not over yet added that only 8 COVID positive patients with little critical conditions are admitted in the district Hospital Kishtwar at present.
The DC also revealed that total fine of Rs 12,70000 has been collected by enforcement squads in the district Kishtwar from the COVID Safety protocol violators since 1st April 2021 across the district.
