Exceptional steps taken by Modi Govt to combat pandemic: Kavinder
7/4/2021 11:45:00 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, July 4: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister on Sunday extolled Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP Government at the Centre for taking exceptionally good and extraordinary steps in lessening the miseries of the people during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chairing a party activists meeting here at BJP Headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, the senior BJP functionary said that the strategy developed to counter Coronavirus crisis under the astute leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi successfully bailed out the country out of morass and resulted into early subsiding of the second wave of the pandemic that saw the light of the day because of mutations in the parent virus.
Giving detailed purview of the steps taken by the BJP fraternity after the ‘go ahead’ signal of PM Modi under Sewa Hi Sangathan Hai Abhiyan series, Kavinder said that BJP workers have shown the world that Saffron party comprised of a dedicated force of nationalist volunteers who can even go for supreme sacrifice if the country demands and this thing was proven during the second wave of the virus. He said that BJP workers reached every household, individual or organization that demanded help during the peak of pandemic and provided medicines, oxygen, food, assistance to act under stressful conditions of disease and disaster, and even the sanitizers and masks, which were in demand at that time.
“At the government level, things were moving very fast and without going into the confrontation of ego and recognition, BJP Government took revolutionary initiatives and at times changed the course looking into the need and on the basis of changes in research as no one was completely sure about the virus characteristics”, he said, adding that if any other government would have been on the driving seat the things must have gone out of control with massive destruction taking place in the country. He said that starting from daylong curfew to the announcement of following COVID-19 appropriate behaviour, PM Modi led government has done marvelously and stopped the country from a disaster.
The former Deputy Chief Minister asked the party workers to take a cue from BJP leadership in tackling crisis and act as ambassadors of the government in the UT of J&K to make people understand the necessity of adapting to COVID-19 appropriate behaviour as the risk of transmission of virus is still there and some experts fear that a more dangerous third wave can hit the country which should not be the case as people need to understand the importance of precautions. He said that prevention is better than cure, therefore the BJP workers in J&K should take up this responsibility to educate people to the hilt so that third wave should not become a reality.
