COVID-19: JK reports 347 new cases, two fresh deaths; active positive 3967, recovered 308672

SRINAGAR, July 4: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 347 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 3, 16,976. Following two fresh deaths the death toll due to the virus reached 4,337.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 347 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 144 from Jammu division and 203 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 16,976. Also two COVID-19 deaths have been reported from Jammu division.
Moreover, 426 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 163 from Jammu division and 263 from Kashmir division. Besides this, 88.41 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu & Kashmir. Out of 3, 16,976 positive cases, 3,967 are active positive, 3, 08,672 have recovered and 4,337 have died; 2,115 in Jammu division and 2,222 in Kashmir division.
Out of 1, 02, 01,963 test results available, 98, 84,987 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 24, 65,734 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 10,812 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 3,967 in isolation and 2, 37,292 in home surveillance. Besides, 22, 09,326 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 70,292 positive cases, 763 active positive, 68,700 recovered, 829 deaths; Baramulla has 23,319 positive cases, 245 active positive, 22,795 recovered, 279 deaths; Budgam has 22,656 positive cases, 233 active positive, 22,219 recovered, 204 deaths; Anantnag has 16,153 positive cases, 150 active positive, 15,800 recovered, 203 deaths; Pulwama has 14,926 positive cases, 149 active positive, 14,585 recovered, 192 deaths.
“Kupwara has 13,866 positive cases, 219 active positive, 13,482 recovered, 165 deaths; Kulgam has 11,111 positive cases, 172 active positive, 10,823 recovered, 116 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,660 positive cases, 181 active positive, 9,403 recovered, 76 deaths; Bandipora has 9,338 positive cases, 111 active positive, 9,127 recovered, 100 deaths and Shopian has 5,559 positive cases, 11 active positive, 5,490 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,438 positive cases, 500 active positive, 50,803 recovered, 1,135 deaths; Udhampur has 11,197 positive cases, 77 active positive, 10,989 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,743 positive cases, 113 active positive, 10,410 recovered, 220 deaths; Kathua has 9,217 positive cases, 17 active positive, 9,051 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,089 positive cases, 54 active positive, 6,916 recovered, 119 deaths.
“Doda has 6,907 positive cases, 235 active positive, 6,554 recovered, 118 deaths; Poonch has 6,128 positive cases, 201 active positive, 5,835 recovered, 92 deaths; Reasi has 5,999 positive cases, 324 active positive, 5,632 recovered, 43 deaths; Ramban has 5,867 positive cases, 83 active positive, 5,719 recovered, 65 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,511 positive cases, 129 active positive, 4,339 recovered, 43 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 16,976 positive cases in J&K, 22,493 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces, wearing a face cover is compulsory.
