Narcotics, liquor seized; Seven arrested

Reasi, July 8: Police claimed to have seized narcotics and liquor with the arrest of seven persons in different naka raids.
During surprise naka checking at Siar Baba area, team of Police post Talwara intercepted and arrested four drug peddlers Ghulam Ali son of Abdul Kareem resident of Talwara, Talib Hussain son of Noor Alam resident of Sirla Bhaga, Mohd Farooq son of Ghulam Hussain resident of Tulli Banna Tehsil Chassana, Mohd Usman S/O Mohd Iqbal R/O Tulli Banna and recovered Heroine like substance from their posessesion. In this regard case FIR no. 142/2021 U/S 8,21,22, NDPS ACT is registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation set in.
Accused Talib Hussain is a habitual offender and involved in 3 case FIR’s i.e FIR No 33/2019 U/S 435/ 427 RPC, 4/25 Arms Act ,FIR No 41/2020 U/S 8/22 NDPS Act and FIR No 60/2021 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act registered in Police Station Reasi against him. To curb his illegal activities, his name will entered in Register Number 10 of police station Reasi and constant surveillance will be kept over him and recorded in his history sheet.
Moreover, team of Police Station Arnas on a specific information arrested one bootlegger Suraj Ram son of Anant Ram resident of Dugga from Zero Morh Arnas and recovered 14 bottles of Liquor from his possession, which were carried by him for the purpose of illegally selling in Arnas area. In this regards FIR no 64/21 U/S 48 a, 50 Excise Act stand registered at Police Station Arnas and investigation set in. Accused Suraj Ram is a habitual offender and a history Sheeter of police station Arnas.
Meanwhile Police team of Police Station Pouni laid a naka at domail, Vehicle ECO bearing registration number JK11E-2350 & tried to flee which police intercepted. Sanjay singh S/O Rajinder singh R/O Khwas and Jeet singh S/O Kashmir Singh R/O Keri tehsil khawas district Rajouri were illegally transporting 32 bottles of whisky & rum. FIR no 45/2021 U/S 48-a Excise Act stands registered at Police Station Pouni and accused arrested.
