GDC Bishnah organises week long Inter-College activity to celebrate Van Mahaotsav

JAMMU, July 8: Eco- Club and NSS wing of GDC Bishnah under the guidance of Principal Dr. Anuradha Pandoh commemorated the Van Mahotsav week by organizing various programs on the theme "Eco-restoration and Van Mahotsav".
The students of various colleges participated in the program. The program included slogan writing competition organized by Dr. Asha Sharma, HOD EVS, Poster making competition 0rganized by Dr. Sheetu Raina (HOD Zoology) & Prof. Ratika Sharma (HOD Physics), poem recitation competition organized by Prof. Amit Kumar Sharma (NSS Program officer ) and online plantation drive & webinar organized by Dr. Suman Bala (Convenor of Eco- club). The Speaker of online session was O P Sharma Vidyarthi (renowned environmentalist). In his session he discussed the various environment related problems and gave the message of go green by saving forests and trees.
The program was judged by Dr. Savi Behl, Assoc. Prof of GDC Paloura, Dr. Veena Sumbaria, Assoc. Prof.(Retd.), Dr. Neha Sharma, Assoc. Prof of GDC Majalta. The first, second and third prize in poster and painting competition were bagged by Ashwani Singh BSc. Sem-II of GDC Udhampur , Vrindha Sadotra BSc. Sem-II of GDC Udhampur and Anuj Sharma BSc.Sem-II of GDC Udhampur while Consolation prizes were given to Sumaiya Khatoon BSc. Sem-IV of GDC Udhampur and Naina Thakur BSc. Sem-II of GDC Udhampur
The first, second and third prize in slogan writing competition on ecosystem restoration were bagged by Diksha Thakur of Sem-IVth of GDC Majalta, Anjali Sharma of Sem-IVth of GDC Marheen and Priyanka sambyal of sem-IInd of GDC Bishnah and Monika Sandhu Of Sem-IInd of GDC Bishnah while consolation prizeswere taken by Tania Mehra of Sem-IVth of GDC Bishnah and Meenakshi Sharma of Sem-IInd of GDC Bishnah.
The result of the programs was declared by Prof. Amit Kumar Sharma in the valedictory program. The concluding remarks was provided by Dr. Suman Bala. The cash prize as well as the e-certificate were also distributed among the winners by the Principal.
