RAJOURI, July 14: Arrangements for the celebration of 75th Independence Day in the district were finalized here in a meeting of district and sectoral officers held here under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan.
Arrangements to be made at District Police Lines, like sanitation, erecting of stage, seating, drinking water, security, illumination, traffic management, transport facilities for public and participating students and others besides arrangements for “At home” celebration of the National Day were discussed and finalized.
It was decided in the meeting that the day will begin within the shenai vadaan to be played by the department of information and public relations.
The DDC also impressed upon the concerned officers to ensure assigned arrangements are put in place well in time for the smooth conduct of the celebrations. He exhorted for close coordination among different departments for the timely completion of arrangements.
The responsibility for arranging special buses for transportation of the public to the main event venue was entrusted upon the Assistant Regional Transport Officer Rajouri.
It was also decided in the meeting that all the arrangements for the national event will be made keeping in view the covid safety protocols.
The meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Pawan Kumar; Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Tahir Mustafa Malik, Town Commander; Chief Executive Officer RDA, Vivek Puri, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Shamim Bhatti, CAO DRDA, Shabana Azmin, ACD, Sushil Khajuri, Dysp Vinod Kumar, District Officer, Sarpanchs and representatives from Army and paramilitary forces.
