8 houses, 10 water mills, hundreds Kanal of agricultural land damaged in flash floods

Kishtwar, July 21: The continuous rains in Kishtwar District since last two days has triggered flash floods in Marwah area of Kishtwar District in which at least 8 residential houses, 10 water mills and around 600 kanals of agricultural land suffered damages in Raar and Nawapachi areas of Marwah Sub Divisional Headquarter.
As per the details available with Early Times, no loss of life was reported from any part of Marwah sub division due to flash floods.
Senior officials while confirming the incident told the Early Times that relief cases of the affected families are being prepared for which necessary directions has already been issued. The official added that in next one week, the compensation cases will be finalised. The official said that the standing crops on around 500 Kanals of land was destroyed due to these floods in Marwah and Warwan areas. Meanwhile red alert has been sounded out in entire District due to weather advisory issued by the metrological department. The people have been asked not to venture in and around water bodies.
