DDM NABARD reviews status of NAFCC Project Bhalwal

JAMMU, July 24: DDM NABARD Jammu Priya Ranjan today reviewed the status of the flagship project of Government of India, National Adaptation Fund for Climate Change (NAFCC) at Bhalwal here today.
Joint Director Agriculture (Extension) Jammu, Dr. Rajan Sharma and Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Marh Dr. Ashwani Kumar Jojra and other staff attended the meeting.
AEO Bhalwal, Dr. Vandana Kotwal welcomed the team on behalf of the zonal staff and briefed the team about the project. The team visited different villages of the block Bhalwal covered under NAFCC Project. The visiting team inspected different works executed under the project like Vermicompost units, Borewells, Dairy units etc,
The team also inspected the under construction Soil Testing laboratory being set up under the NAFCC Project at Bhalwal. On completion, this laboratory will facilitate the soil testing process in block Bhalwal, block Mathwar and sub division Akhnoor and almost 10-15 thousands Farming Families will be directly benefitted from this Soil Testing Laboratory.
Meanwhile, the visiting team also inspected the community Borewell at Village Marjali, which is catering to irrigation requirements of almost 50-60 families.
The team also interacted with the concerned PRIs who applauded the role of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare in dissemination of latest farming technologies & motivating the farmers to adopt useful innovations for mitigation of adverse effects of Climate Change on crop production.
DDM NABARD Jammu Priya Ranjan, while addressing the beneficiaries assured that with the active support of NABARD & guidance of the Department of Agriculture the objective of the project will be achieved in a time bound manner.
Later, Joint Director Agriculture (Extension) Jammu Rajan Sharma interacted with the field staff and advised them to address the farmers issues with mission mode.
Other officers present on the occasion included Dr. Anshu Banotra, Dr. Vijay Koul & Dr. Saravjeet Singh.
