Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Aug 7: The IGM National vice president Ch. Rashid Azam Inqlabi presided on a virtual meeting in which various members of IGM participated through videos conference. In the meeting various members expressed their views on various topics for the immediate attention of the government Inqlabi stressed that higher education is most essential for the all round development of personality of youths. The higher education is entrusted with the responsibility to monitor and regulate the dissemination of the above secondary education.
In last 70 years in Jammu and Kashmir state only 97 colleges were functioning but Governor administration in 2019 sanctioned fifty more colleges in far-flung areas of the state but no efforts have been made for the creation of full staff for new degrees colleges, so that they became fully functional. Only èight to nine posts of teaching faculty was created for these colleges which badly effects the future of students due to lack of teaching staff. The higher education system is facing great difficulties due to the prevailing circumstances but actuate shortages of teaching staff in degrees colleges of the far-flung area further adds to the voes of the students belonging to far flung area. At present ten to twelve members of teaching staff are working in middle schools whereas only 6 to 9 faculty members has been sanctions for new degrees colleges which is a mockery with the people of far flung area.
The condition staff of degrees colleges already functioning in far-flung areas is also the same. Only two or three permanent faculty members have been posted in these colleges rest of the teaching staff is provided on contractual basis with merger remuneration which is an exploitation of highly qualified educated youths.
Ch. Rashid Azam Inqlabi appealed the Lieutenant Governor to direct the finance and higher education department to create the posts of teaching faculty for newly established colleges as per laid down norms of university grants commission and also fulfill the shortage of staff in the degrees colleges of the far-flung area of the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir
Inqlabi further demanded that degree college surankot be included in winter zone due to the climate of that area.
