| Dr Vikas Sharma of SKUAST-J conferred with BEST TEACHER AWARD | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 7: Dr. Vikas Sharma S/o Sh. Harbans Lal Sharma and Pushplata Sharma, R/o Channi Himmat, Jammu gets Best Teacher Award 2021 for his academic excellence and research contributions.
This prestigious award contains a Certificate of Excellence, a momento along with lifetime professional membership of AEDS, a scientific organization, for the promotion of agriculture, environment and biological sciences across the world for the welfare of human being The award was conferred to Dr. Vikas on the occasion of 05th International Conference on “Advances in Agriculture, Environmental and Biosciences for Sustainable Development (05-07, August, 2021)” by virtual mode organized by Agro Environmental Development Society, Central Agricultural University Imphal in collaboration with Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya Gwalior and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). The aforesaid International Conference was attended by more than 300 scientists from 08 different countries.
Working as a Scientist in the Division of Biochemistry, FBSc., SKUAST-Jammu, Dr. Sharma has guided 06 Ph.D students and 05 MSc. students as a Major Advisor in the field of bioprospection of medicinal plants from Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, bio prospection of microorganisms from North Western Himalayas, DNA barcoding of scab effecting different apple species in J&K and diversity analysis of apricot species in J&K.
He has authored 04 books and published 60 full length research papers in refereed journals of National and International repute.
Dr. Vikas is a Fellow Member of many prestigious societies and is a recipient of VIFA International, Young Scientist and Best Personality of India Award. In addition he got many appreciation certificates from various Govt. Organizations for his contributions in the field of Science. |
