BJP failed to protect rights of locals post Article 370 abrogation: Mula Ram
8/8/2021 12:02:38 AM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Aug 7: Senior Congress leader and former minister Mula Ram and District Congress Committee (DCC) Jammu Rural President, Hari Singh have castigated BJP leadership for its alleged failure to fulfill promises made by the people of J&K at the time of abrogation of Article 370 from the erstwhile state.
While addressing a gathering at Upper Paloura and Upper Roop Nagar areas of Raipur Domana Constituency, the former minister Mula Ram said that after abrogation of Art 370, BJP had assured that the rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir will be protected at all costs. He said that instead the rights of the original people of J&K are under great threat as today the people of other states residing in J&K are able to buy land after obtaining Domicile Certificates. What is more unfortunate is that purchase and sale of agricultural land has been banned In J&K for some local communities including Khatris, Mahajans, Aggarwals and Sikhs. This has happened despite the fact that in others states, BJP has ensured pro-local land laws and saved jobs for the locals there. District Congress Committee (DCC) Jammu Rural President, Hari Singh while addressing the gathering said that BJP leadership showed moon and stars to the innocent people of this Union Territory claiming that huge investments would pour into the newly formed Union Territory but today despite passing of two years of abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A no such investors are visible anywhere on ground J&K.
Hari Singh said that it is really irony of the people of this UT that BJP made promises only never to be fulfilled while the sufferings of the people continue to accumulate with each passing day.
Speaking in the meeting, Uday Bhanu Chib, J&K President Pradesh Youth Congress, said youth are the most sufferers of the hollow policies of BJP government at the Centre.
Earlier, Mula Ram along with Hari Singh and Uday Chib reviewed ongoing development of lanes at Upper Paloura and Upper Roop Nagar and asked authorities concerned to complete this work in a time bound manner.
They also interacted with the prominent citizens of these areas and listened to their grievances related to civic amenities. The senior Congress leaders assured the people of these areas that their issues related to civic amenities would be addressed at the earliest.
