DC Doda finalises Independence Day arrangements

DODA, Aug 10: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Vikas Sharma today chaired a meeting of officers to finalize the arrangements for the Independence Day- 2021 celebration, here at Conference Hall of DC Office Complex.
The meeting reviewed security arrangements, traffic regulation plan, security passes, seating arrangements, illumination of offices, Power and water supply, sanitation of town area and the venue, Medicare facilities, cultural activities and display of tableaus etc.
The meeting was informed that the main function would be held at Sports Stadium, where the Chief Guest would unfurl the National Flag at 8:55 AM, and inspect the parade.
It was decided that march-past will be presented by contingents of J&K Police, IRP 5th BN, CRPF, Forest Protection Force, NCC ( Sr and Jr wing), school students, besides limited colorful cultural programme will be held in view of the Covid-19 safety protocol. The DC directed the education department to educate students about Covid appropriate behaviour, besides directing them to restrict the participation below 9th standard.
He also stressed on creating awareness on COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour through announcements at all venues, and directed the officers to hold flag hoisting in all government institutions, including schools, Panchayat Ghars and Government offices.
