Roads with potholes to welcome Bollywood in J&K
8/11/2021 12:20:14 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 9: The much hyped New Film Policy for Jammu and Kashmir has triggered a debate in the Union Territory. Officials and BJP leaders are claiming that the New Film Policy will help in boosting J&K’s economy and would generate employment. “It seems that someone needs to tell these officials and politicians that most of the roads in Jammu and Srinagar are in shambles. Potholed roads have become a hallmark of Jammu and Kashmir,” said an analyst.
He said, “The helmsmen need to tell how Bollywood would travel in J&K without proper roads? Mere announcements and slogans are not enough the ground situation has to change. The infrastructure and road connectivity are must to boost the economy.” Many people are terming the recently framed new ‘Film Policy’ 2021 by the UT Government as a revolutionary initiative. “But the real revolution is yet to come as the roads are in a bad shape and infrastructure is in shambles,” said an observer.
He said, “Before framing the new policies officials should look towards improving the infrastructure in J&K and provide people with basic necessities. Revolutionary steps will help when people are happy and content. Roads are lifeline of any place. Unfortunately the helmsmen have ignored this vital factor. Bollywood is welcome but it has to be provided with the facilities that are required.”
