| GDC Nagrota organizes webinar | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 10: Govt Degree College Nagrota organised a webinar on "Freedom struggle of india" on 10th August 2021 under the ages of "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav" to celebrate seventy five years of India's Independence.
The Webinar began with a welcome address by Prof Anjali Mahajan, HOD English, GDC Nagrota. Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal, Principal, GDC, Nagrota, was the patron of the programme . Worthy Principal while speaking on the occasion, apprised the students about the importance of webinar and encouraged them to participate in such activities.
Prof. Anjali Mahajan, in her welcome address threw light on the benefits of the webinar as it helps the students to improve their knowledge about the freedom struggle of india. She welcomed the renowned personalities and apprised the students about their professional backgrounds. Large number of college students participated and showed keen interest in attending the webinar
Dr Iqbal Quasim, the in charge of NSS unit, GDC Nagrota was resource person for the webinar and he spoke on the topic "Freedom Struggle of India and National Movement ". While speaking on the occasion he talked about the origin of National Movement in ancient time and how social reformers like Swami Vivekananda propagated the concept in modern times. Dr Iqbal also threw light on the background of acknowledging 15th August as Independence Day.
He also apprised the importance of celebrating Martyrs Day. This is the day when three freedom fighters namely Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukh Dev sacrificed their lives for the sake of country
Prof Anjali Mahajan HOD English GDC Nagrota presented the vote of thanks and she also talked about the significance of sense of Nationalism in life. She formally thanked the resource person and said that these kinds of webinar help the students in a long way. |
