Early Times Report

JAMMU, Aug 27: The Shri Ram Sena (SRS), J&K unit on Friday asserted that governments, both at the centre and in J&K will have to think out-of-the-box to root out scourge of terrorism and violent extremism as the same have gone berserk by the conventional methods tested and tried in the UT since 2014, when PM Narendra Modi took over the reins of the country.
Addressing a presser here, President SRS Rajiv Mahajan said that the failure of the government to assert control over ultras will continue to spawn the growth of numerous terror mongers fostered by internal and external actors thus escalating the situation in the UT of J&K. He said that government should give a serious thought to stop the bloodshed in the UT because from the day one of Modi Government taking over the reins of the country there is hardly a single day when there was no terrorist attack, encounter or some sort of militancy related killings in the UT.
He expressed surprise that despite having highly experienced police officers who took lead during the peak of militancy in J&K and phenomenally contained the terrorism, the government is not taking their services to once again tighten noose around the law breakers and terror mongers, and wasting time by again and again trying the conventional methods to get rid of terrorism which lately has surged to a great extent. He urged the government to appoint former DGP JKP, K Rajendra as Advisor to the Lt Governor if it wants to eliminate terrorism completely from the UT of J&K. He said that the vast experience which the former top cop possessed can be of great help in effectively eliminating the terrorism in the UT. Rajiv said that the long rope given to terrorists has lead to spiraling of the militancy in the region therefore looking into the gravity of the situation it is high time that government should consider the placing of K Rajendra as Advisor to LG to make use of his dexterity and adroitness in rooting out terrorism from the UT.
