| PYS organizes training programme in traditional folk art | | |  Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Oct 4: Progressive Youth Society (PYS) Ramnagar, District Udhampur organized training programme in traditional folk art at Dhoom Academy Udhampur in collaboration with Ministry of Culture (Govt. of India) under BTI Project 2020-21 in which 12 children took part. The training workshop comprised of folk songs and folk dances. Trainee students below 15 years of age were trained in Bhakh, Geetru, Haran, Kud, Ghodi, Suhag, Jagrana and Fummani etc by Devender Thakur and Ashu Sharma. Also, Anil Kumar and Resham Rana accompanied them during this workshop.
In the valedictory function, Romalo Ram (ZEO Ramnagar) and renowned folk artist was the chief guest while Sudesh Sultanpuri presided over the function. Mulkh Raj Sharma (Musician) was the guest of honour on this occasion. The programme started with lighting of lamp and welcome address by Suresh Kumar Sharma (Dance Director) followed by folk items "Dikh Mera Dogra Des", "Chuda Kun Ghadeya", Rahi Kukdi" etc.
Uttam Singh 'Albela' member PYS threw light on folk culture and need to protect it. Yash Kumar Asstt. Professor Music, Suresh Nagar, Arun Sharma (Journalist) and Ajay Kumar were also present on the occasion. The certificates were awarded to trainees and mementoes were given to all guests by the Progressive Youth Society. Lastly vote of thanks was presented by Manoj Kumar Sharma (Nishchint), President Progressive Youth Society. The programme was highly appreciated by the audience. |
