Early Times Report

Rajouri, Oct 4: In a Shocking incident Sarpanch of Panchayat Deeing, Ramesh Chaudhary was attacked allegedly by a contractor and his son after he raised concern over the substandard material used to construct road from Gagrote to Seri Gate Dheri Mohalla in this frontier district.
According to the details available with Early Times Sarpanch Ramesh Choudhary went to inspect the under construction road from Gagrote to Seri Gate Dheri Mohalla this morning. After noticing the pitiable condition of the road, he contacted executive engineer PWD Nowshera and raised the issue. “After some time the contractor and his son reached the spot and starting beating him . The son of the contractor tried to blow his head off with a heavy construction equipment. But the Sarpanch took the blow on his hand due to which his wrist got fractured,” said an eyewitness.
“After sensing the seriousness of the issue, the Sarpanch ran towards the locality where the public came to his rescue. He was given first aid and was later shifted to Government Medical College Rajouri at Kheora, where he is currently undergoing treatment,” the witness added.
On being contacted, Sarpanch Ramesh Choudhary said that this was the second attack on him. “Nearly 15-20 days ago my car was vandalized by the miscreants,” he said.
Pertinently, the victim joined Aam Aadmi Party a few months ago and since then he has been getting threats. On being contacted, SDPO Nowshera said that the Police have taken cognisance and strict action shall be taken against the culprits after proper investigation. The police have registered FIR under Section FIR No : 307-200/2021 Dated 05-10-2021, FIR No : 201/2021/302 Dated : 05-10-2021.
