Inmates educated about their rights at Sub Jail Reasi

REASI, Oct 7: In compliance with the Action plan issued by Legal Services Authority of UT of J&K under PAN India Awareness and Outreach Campaign and under the supervision and guidance of its chairman R.N. Watal, District Legal Services Authority Reasi today organised a Legal Awareness Program on the "Rights of Prisoners" at Sub-Jail Reasi. Secretary DLSA Reasi, Rekha Kapoor Nischal, accompanied by the Panel Lawyers K.K. Dubey, M.S. Mir, Shalinder Bhardwaj, Deepak Attri, Ajay Salalia and Ankush Sharma besides staff of DLSA Reasi and PLV of Legal Aid Clinic, Sub- Jail Reasi interacted with the jail inmates.
The team made them aware about the Legal rights under the Code of Criminal Procedure and also the latest rulings of the Apex Court which deals with the welfare of the Under trial Prisoners. The program was also attended by Superintendent of Jail, Rajinder Sharma and the staff of the Sub-jail Reasi.
