Weekly Block Diwas meetings held across district Ramban

RAMBAN, Oct 20: District Administration, Ramban organized public outreach programmes “Block Diwas’ today in designated blocks of the district amid Covid protocols to listen to the grievances of public besides giving a fillip to developmental activities across the district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal Sharma; DPO, Ashok Katoch; BDO Ramban Vishal Atri and various senior officers from district administration besides PRIs and general public attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam said that Block Diwas is an easy accessible platform for PRIs and public to highlight their issues pertaining to their basic requirements and development. The DC asked the officers to improve service delivery system besides addressing public grievances on spot especially highlighted during Block Diwas across the district.
The DC also exhorted upon PRIs to keenly monitor all the developmental works being executed in their respective areas to ensure quality and timely completion of works besides working under mutual coordination with officers and field staff to achieve tangible results.
He also informed the participants about the status of the tendering process of development works sanctioned under Area Development Funds of DDC, BDC and Panchyats besides JJM, PMGSY and other sectors.
Earlier, various Sarpanchs and Panches raised many developmental issues and sought early redressal of the same.
The SDM Banihal, Zaheer Abbas also attended the Block Diwas programme at Banihal.
The Block Diwas programme was also held at Sangaldan which was presided over by the SDM Gool, Gias-Ul-Haq alongwith Tehsildar Gool and listened to grievances of public and addressed most of the issues on spot.
