Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 20: Welcoming the decision of Administrative Council for providing justice to Mahajans, Khatris and Sikhs by omitting the discriminatory clause from the J&K Land Alienation Act Svt.1995 which disallowed the aforesaid communities to purchase agri lands, senior BJP leader Kavinder Gupta said that Modi government is committed to end all sorts of discrimination and corruption from the country.
In a statement issued here, the former Deputy Chief Minister appreciated the decision of the Administrative Council for giving privilege to Mahajans, Khatris and Sikhs for sale and purchasing of Agriculture land in Jammu and Kashmir which earlier was denied to them due to the aforesaid Act.
Kavinder said that there are several more things which are required to be rectified to ensure justice to all and the same will also be taken up by the BJP Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that Modi government is committed to establish the rule free from prejudice and discrimination of any sort.
Lauding the local government for this landmark decision, Kavinder asked the people sitting at helm of affairs to act in a manner which is people friendly and ensures public welfare. He said that the aforesaid order has made it clear that the government is sincere in annulling anything and everything which is lopsided and stops people from enjoying the right of equality which is a fundamental right guaranteed to every citizen of the country by the constitution of India.
Kavinder said that main motive of abrogation of Article 370 by the Modi Government was to remove the discrimination between people of J&K and the rest of India and Administrative Council’s decision has made it clear that the end of contentious Article 370 was necessary for people of J&K to enjoy all the rights given by the Constitution of India.
He said that people of the UT should act as ears and eyes of the government and must come forward to show the way to the government to annul more of such discriminatory clauses presently stopping them from enjoying rights in true spirit.
