| Rich tributes paid to RK Laxman on his 100th birth anniversary | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 24: An International Cartoon exhibition was exhibited here today at Mubarak Mandi Jammu. Kripal Singh, who is known as heritage man was the chief guest and Brij Mohan, eminent music composer was the guest of honor on the occasion, who paid rich tributes to RK Laxman on his 100th birth anniversary.
Curated by prominent cartoonist, Chander Shekhar, eighty-five creations of forty-five top cartoonists are under display in this exhibition along with the Cartoons by (Late) RK Laxman were also on display.
Kripal Singh while paying tributes appreciated the works under display, he commended the efforts of Chander Shekhar for organizing International Exhibition of Cartoons.
On this occasion, curator of exhibition Chander Shekhar informed that credit goes to the entire fraternity of cartoonists, particularly the cartoonists of Jammu & Kashmir who not only inspired me but also contributed immensely to conceptualize and mount this show. He termed this exhibition as a humble tribute of the fraternity of cartoonists to their icon RK Laxman who is considered by all as one of the world’s greatest cartoonist, was an institution in himself, indisputably the uncrowned conscience keeper of the nation. |
