GDC Jindrah organizes Kavi Ghosthi in Dogri

JAMMU, Nov 11: The NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC), Jindrah in collaboration with Duggar Manch and Department of Dogri, GDC Jindrah organized a Kavi Ghosthi in the memory of Padamshree Padma Sachdev, a great and renowned Dogri Poet and writer. The activities were done as a part of 'Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' under the banner NEP (National Education Policy) 2020 in view to promote regional languages.
The various award winning eminent personalities who grace the grand occasion were D K Vaid, Convener, Advisory Board, Dogri Sahitya Academy Delhi; Mohan Singh, President, Duggar Manch. The other writer and poets who graced the occasion were Bishan Singh Dardi, Shiv Dev Sushil and Dr. Sushma Rani. The other guests who were present are Kishori Lal, Somraj, Ranjeet Singh, and Chandra Moli.
Principal, Prof. Rajshree Dhar stressed upon the need of organizing such programmes in future too to promote regional languages and also assured all kind of support in organizing such wonderful events. She also very enthusiastically announced the best Dogri Poet award among the students of the college every year to cultivate writing potential of the students.
Dr. Sunil Sharma, Program officer, NSS Unit of GDC, Jindrah supervised the whole event and also presented vote of thanks. Dr. Seema, Librarian and member of NSS team compiled and reported the event. During the event all the eminent personalities mesmerized the audience with their poems and also congratulated the college for their untiring efforts in promoting Dogri literature among the students and locals. The students also participated in the event and presented their well written poems
