JAMMU, Nov 15: Hindi Sahitya Mandal (HSM), Jammu organized an award giving function in honour of Raj Bharti, educationist, social activist, cultural enthusiast and an artist from Jammu. Advocate Chander Mohan Sharma was the chief guest on this occasion whereas Dr. Lalit Magotra, President Dogri Sanstha & renowned writer and Dr. Agni Shekhar, eminent Hindi & Kashmiri writer presided over the function. Welcoming the guests Dr. Raj Kumar, President HSM remembered Ramesh Mehta and his contribution in the field of literature and culture.
A brief Introduction of Bharti was read out in a citation by Rakesh Abrol, Executive Member of HSM giving the information on the contribution of Bharti. She was conferred with the ‘1st Ramesh Mehta Smriti Puraskar’. comprising of a cash purse of Rs. 11,000, a citation and a robe of honour for her contribution in the broad fields of art- culture- music- theatre and literature, including writings on and about culture to an artist, cultural activist or writer.
