| ACB arrests VLW Soibugh for receiving bribe | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 15: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested Reyaz Ahmad Mir, Village Level Worker (VLW) block Soibugh in Budgam district for accepting bribe in lieu of signing the authority of works under MGNREGA. The ACB received a complaint that Reyaz is demanding Rs. 2,000 as bribe from a complainant in lieu of signing the authority of works under MGNREGA.
On receipt of the complaint FIR No. 36/2021 PS ACB Srinagar U/S 7 PC Act 1988 was registered and investigation taken up. During the course of investigation, a trap team was constituted. The trap team laid a successful trap and caught red-handed the VLW while demanding and accepting the bribe money from the complainant in presence of independent witness.
The VLW had earlier also demanded and accepted bribe money and was demanded fresh bribe from the complainant. He was arrested and taken into custody by the ACB team.
