Early Times Report

JAMMU, Nov 16: Union Minister of State for Education Dr. Subhas Sarkar today said that the education sector in India is undergoing an unprecedented transformation. He said that National Education Policy 2020 introduced by the government aims at preparing our youth to be future-ready, socially aware, global citizens of the 21st century. The minister was addressing 5th Convocation Ceremony of Sharda University at Greater Noida. Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Prof. S P Singh Baghel, former Chairman of ISRO and the architect of the new education policy 2020, Dr. Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan, Nobel laureate and eminent Bangladesh economist Mohammad Yunus and Uttar Pradesh Council of Higher Education Chairman Dr. G C Tripathi were present.
192 students were awarded various medals during this period. Dr. Subhash said that the government has implemented the new education policy by making changes in education according to the times. We are glad that Sharda University, the premier university of Delhi and NCR region, has not only implemented the new policy but is also shaping the future of the students by providing better infrastructure, he added.
“Convocation is the beginning of a new life. The time has come to take down what the children have read or understood so far. It is like a milestone in itself. The whole world salutes the culture, knowledge and wisdom of our country. Our old universities have shown the path of knowledge to the whole world. Today the most needed is research and innovation.
The more we focus on research, the more we will be able to contribute to the service of the country. We hope that all these students getting knowledge from Sharda University will not only brighten their own future but will also be able to get employment for others.
Prof. Baghel took the children out of the box and introduced them to the days of their childhood and youth. He also narrated an incident about the essay on cow.
He said that questions come from general knowledge in the examination, but from school to college there is a lack of integration in it.
He advised not to do any work beyond the limits, but said that if your parents go beyond their status, then it does not go in vain.
