| RDD Poonch releases payments of allied works fraudulently | | | Rajesh Tandon

POONCH, Nov 16: Rural Development Department (RDD) Poonch has remained in limelight for its mismanagement and misdeeds.
The same can be well understood from the fact that the payments of several allied works executed in the district were withdrawn showing that works were executed with cement.
Moreover, a Programme Officer, who is originally posted at Block Development Office, Poonch has allegedly managed to get his attachment with ACD Office Poonch for his personal benefits.
Sources said that it has been observed that several allied works in which no cement is used under MGNAREGA were executed by BDO Poonch while the fact of the matter is that the works were shown as executed with cement and subsequently the payments were released fraudulently.
These claims of corruption get substantiated with the allegation labeled by the local Sarpanches before the Deputy Commissioner Poonch in a meeting. They alleged that the unabated corruption has been going on the in the office BDO Poonch and the public money is being squandered due to some corrupt officials, who got the payment released by the fudging the documents.
When Early Times contacted the GAD Commissioner M K Dwivedi about this matter, he said that he would look into the matter. Meanwhile BDO Poonch said that he had recently joined the posting and will inquire about the matter and would also write to the ACD Pooch to send the PO back to his original posting. |
