Early Times Report

KISHTWAR, Nov 16: In a glaring example of absenteeism culture in rural area of Marwah in Kishtwar District, Sub Divisional Magistrate Marwah has sought explanation from his own staff who are absent from their duties since last nearly two weeks.
As per the details available with Early Times, SDM Marwah Dr. Mohsin Raza Ahanger while taking strong note of the absenteeism in the Department of Revenue employees directed them to reply as why no action can be initiated against them for their un-authorized absence.
“Whereas this office has time and again issued instructions regarding punctuality in offices and directed revenue staff not to leave their headquarters without prior sanction of leave and station permission. Whereas after getting information regarding un-authorized absence of Patwaris from their places of posting, concerned controlling officer was directed to ensure that all the staff reports back to their places of posting with action taken report” reads the notice issued by SDM Marwah to absentees employees.
The notice further reads, “Whereas despite lapse of considerable time Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar Marwah have failed to ensure that absentees report to their duties. Whereas despite communicating in official Whatsapp group for immediately reporting back to duties. None of the absentees reported back to their places of posting”.
Annoyed SDM in his notice shows displeasure over as “Even none of the absentees acknowledged the receipt of the orders/instructions of undersigned” added that he again visited Tehsil office Marwah on 13-11-2021 with regard to leave records of the absentee staff and relevant record. It has been found that none of the absentees have obtained permission/applied for leave.
“In the back drop of above facts the absentee staff is hereby directed to explain position within two days as why action as warranted under rules shall not be recommended against them failing which disciplinary action as warranted under rules shall be recommended” SDM stated in the notice.
Meanwhile the official sources told Early Times that senior officials have taken strong note of un-authorized absence of the revenue staff from duty and had directed for action against the erring employees while at the same time recommended “no work-no salary” for all the absentees employees.
