Awareness event 'Prosperity through Cooperation' held in Reasi to mark Cooperative Week

REASI, Nov 17: An awareness event 'Prosperity through Cooperation' was held in Reasi district to mark the 68th All India Cooperative Week celebration, which started on Nov 14, 2021.
The event was organized by the Cooperative Department District Reasi in collaboration with the Pouni Bharkh Cooperative Marketing Society Ltd. and the Jyotipuram Cooperative Marketing Society Ltd at Pouni on the theme "Cooperative Marketing, consumers, processing and value addition" with its main theme "Prosperity through Cooperation".
The function was presided over by Pawan Banathia Chairman BDC as Chief guest; S.Ranjeet Singh, Ex- Chairman Pouni Cooperative Bharkh Cooperative Marketing Society Ltd as the guest of honor; PRI members (BDC, Sarpanches, Panches) Members of Cooperative institutions, FPOs, prominent Cooperators/ citizens besides functionaries of Cooperative Department were also present on the occasion.
The speakers threw light on the achievements and the services of the cooperative societies in uplifting the socio-economic condition of the poor masses and also highlighted the problems being faced by them in their fields.
Pawan Banathia, BDC Chairman said that the cooperatives hold a significant place in view of the potential to address the problem of unemployment by undertaking gainful commercial activities. He stressed upon the need to bring more and more people under the fold of cooperatives especially the women, unemployed educated youth and weaker sections of the society by registering new cooperatives/ FPO's
The function concluded with the vote of thanks by Adnan Rather, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Reasi.
