Sunderbani, Nov 17: It may sound bizarre, but it is true that despite release of payment no work has been done on the ground at Panchayat Nala in Tehsil Sunderbani of District Rajouri.
According to the locals payment for the project to de-channel was released in favour of a respective man but the work is invisible.
“Some years back, the government for the de-channel and in papers the work has been completed and payment has been released in favour of the man, but no work has been done on the ground,” alleged locals, adding that this matter was brought to the notice of concerned authorities time and again, but no concrete action has been taken so far.
They said that Block Development Officer-Raman Kumar Sharma, although attempted to call an enquiry into the matter, but he was transferred.
Meanwhile, sources told Early Times that despite release of the payment, some miscreants in the area are now forcing incumbent Junior Engineer-Rajesh Raina to draft fake bills of the same project in their favour.
Talking to this newspaper, locals of the area demanded an enquiry into the matter, as they believe that despite release of payment no work has been done. They appealed the concerned authorities to cause recovery from the erring contractors, but the genuine ones should be compensated.
When contacted Assistant Commissioner Development Rajouri, Sushil Khajuria said that it has been brought into his notice recently and he has directed to call an enquiry into the matter. |
