Govt leaves youth directionless with poor response for employment: Manjit Singh
11/17/2021 11:07:02 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 17: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu and Former Minister, Manjit Singh today expressed concern over poor response of the Govt with regard to the initiatives to address the worsening issue of unemployment in J&K.
He gave this statement in a meeting of youth wing which he chaired at Apni Party Office in Gandhi Nagar. The meeting was organized to hold threadbare discussion on the issues being confronted by the youth with growing concern for unemployment and lack of opportunities in the Govt sector.
"The Govt is asking the youth to start their own business or startups and they will support. However, the vision and practical support to the youth is missing. The loan process is very difficult which makes the willing youth to abandon their dream before starting anything," he said.
He further said that the Govt must take serious steps for the unemployed youth who are unemployed.
"In Govt sector, the job chances have also faded away even as posts were advertised for recruitment in J&K Police as Sub Inspectors. The youth are still unsatisfied with the Govt for not increasing the age limit to 33 or 35. J&K has passed through difficult times, and it should be treated differently with relaxation in upper age limit to the aspirants in J&K Police," he added.
He further demanded that the Govt should advertise the vacant posts for their recruitment.
Meanwhile, State General Secretary, Youth Wing, Abhay Bakaya said that they will leave no stone unturned to resolve the issues of the youth which are not only confined to employment, but studies, psychological distress, and other issues which often remain unaddressed.
Prominent among those who also spoke on the occasion included State OBC Coordinator Madan Lal Chalotra, District President Jammu Rural A, Pushp Dev Uppal, Provincial President Youth Wing, Vipul Bali and others.
