Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 23: Intensifying ongoing Jan Jagran Abhiyan to aware people about anti-poor policies of BJP led NDA government at the Centre, activists of Mahila Congress organized a rally at Panama Chowk, Jammu.
The rally was organized under the leadership of Pradesh Mahila Congress president and ex-MLA Indu Pawar in which women from different localities were present.
During the last some days, Mahila Congress has organized various programmes in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the Jan Jagran Abhiyan.
Addressing the rally at Panama Chowk, Jammu, Indu Pawar told women that this campaign has been launched to expose BJP which is pursuing the agenda of industrialists and big business houses at the cost of poor and marginalized sections of the society.
Indu Pawar said that prices of essential commodities have been going unabated but those at the helm of the affairs appeared to the unconcerned over unending woes of the poor masses.
She reminded that BJP leaders BJP leaders who used to protest over prices of petrol and diesel have kept mum now. "The prices of all essential commodities including edible oil, pulses, fuel have touched all time high but the Modi government is doing nothing to provide relief to the people,", she said.
She said the people of the country had chosen Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the promise of Achche Din, now he has broken the trust of the people.
"Against the anti-people attitude of the Modi government, the Congress is agitating across the country and raising the voice of the common man," she said.
"By increasing the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG cylinders again, the Modi government has made it clear that it was not concerned about the problems of the common people who are badly hit by inflation. Petrol and diesel prices are increasing continuously despite the low prices of crude oil in the international market. Others who spoke on the occasion include Suman Choudhary, Manju, Sunita and Raj.
