3 held for killing salesman of Kashmiri Pandit businessman

Srinagar, Nov 23: Almost two weeks after a salesman of a Kashmir pandit shopkeeper was killed in old Srinagar, J&K Police says it has solved the case and arrested three accused.
Police said preliminary investigations have revealed that the arrested trio - Aejaz Ahmad Lone, Naseer Ahmad Shah and Showkat Ahmad Dar, all residents of Lelhar Pulwama in south Kashmir, were linked with Lashkar-e-Toiba - “The Resistance Front” and “executed the said terror attack on the directions of terrorist handler from across the border.”
On November 9, unknown gunmen suspected to be militants killed Ibrahim Ahmad a salesman at Sandeep Mawa’s shop near Bohri Kadal area of Srinagar. A day after the killing, Mawa had said the attack was aimed at him.
Soon after the killing a special investigation team was constituted by J&K police to probe the case.
“During the course of investigation, officers learnt about involvement of three accused persons identified as Aejaz Ahmad Lone, Naseer Ahmad Shah and Showkat Ahmad Dar all residents of Lelhar Pulwama in said terror crime. Subsequently, they were arrested and during questioning they confessed about their involvement in the commission of said crime,” a police spokesman said.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the above mentioned arrested trio linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT (TRF) have executed the said terror attack on the directions of terrorist handler from across the border. It was further revealed that the arrested trio have been in touch with Pak based terrorist handlers for last 4 months,” the spokesman said.
“On their disclosure, weapon of offence - pistol along with 7 rounds and other incriminating materials including a grenade have been recovered from their possession. Besides, the Alto car which was used during the commission of crime on the day of attack has also been seized on their disclosure,” he said, adding further investigation in the case is in progress.
