GDC Marh organizes Online Lecture on Communal Harmony in India

JAMMU, Nov 23: NSS unit and Department of Sociology, Govt. Degree College, Marh organized an online lecture on Communal harmony under the patronship of worthy Principal Prof. Aekta Gupta.
Dr. Shveta Sharma, Asstt. Prof., School of Social Sciences, Central University of Himachal Pradesh was the resource person for the said lecture.
Principal of the College, Prof. Aekta Gupta, in her key note address, said that communal harmony is the need of the hour and how it is important for an individual as well as for society. She also congratulated and appreciated the efforts of Organising committee for conducting such informative lecture.
Dr. Shveta Sharma, resource person of the online lecture, highlighted that Communal harmony is the principle of peace and togetherness existing amongst various religious communities, free from violence and hatred. It involves toleration and respect for each other’s belief such that non- violence prevails.
The constitution of the country has enforced laws to ensure communal harmony in the country and the government taking all the necessary measures to ensure the same.
Students of the college enthusiastically participated in the online lecture. Formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Sachin Kumar, HOD, Political Science.
The programme was organised by Dr. Shakun Sharma, HOD, Sociology and coordinated by Prof. Satish Kumar, NSS PO.
