| JKESTWS pleads for implementation 20% additional DA in J&K | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 24: Pleading for implementation of Supreme Court verdict in matter of 20% Additional DA to Employees/Pensioners/Family Pensioners, a deputation of JKESTWS led by its president Vijay Sharma DC (rtd) State Taxes met Advisor Farooq Khan in his office chamber here this afternoon. Interacting with Advisor Khan, Sharma referred to Assam High Court judgement wherein it has directed state to grant additional DA of 20% immediately when a retiree enters the age of 79+. Assam govt appealed in Supreme Court which uphold the verdict of Assam High Court in toto. Its worthwhile to quote that Judges on retirement are given the benefit at 79+ instead of 80+ as is being given in JKUT as on time. President Sharma however appealed in his memorandum to spread this hike in Additional DA in installment after the age superannuation in the below mentioned manner 5% at 65+, 5% at 70+, 5% at 75+ and 5% at 79+ as is held by Supreme Court.
NDA Chairman Sushil Singh Charak who accompanied the delegation thanked Advisor Khan for listening to the demands and grievances of general public and praised Advisor for giving due attention to the demands of senior citizens. Advisor Khan assured he will support this move of society when it is taken up in Administrative Council in near future.
