Kathua, Nov 24: Notwithstanding the tall claims of centre and centrally governed Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir that transparency is maintained in execution of government schemes and despite strict directives from LG Manoj Sinha and the higher authorities of concerned departments but there were several departments who throw these directives to dustbin and do whatever they want do, the sources said here today.
In such a glaring example in ward No 14 of Kathua town, a road hardly for six households in a colony raised by the private property dealers adjacent to Dreamland road, has been blacktopped under the garb of city plan scheme by the Public Works department at an estimated cost of Rs 9 lakh huge expenditure at the behest of private property dealers approach.
There were several dilapidated roads in the area but no heed was paid towards them yet this particular road had an accurate measurement besides photographs were also taken. However, what so ever has been done by the public works department was the misuse of official position and public money brazenly.
The people have in one voice demanded a probe into the matter and book the culprits under the relevant laws. |
