GDC Darhal observes Mahaparinirvan Diwas

Jammu, Dec 6: As a part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav celebrations Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was organized by Govt. Degree College Darhal.
A seminar on the theme “Life and achievements of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar” was the main highlight of the celebrations. Jenab Tahir Malik Assistant Commissioner Revenue Rajouri was the Chief Guest in the celebrations organized by Govt. Degree College Darhal. Speaking on the occasion Jenab Malik threw light on the Father of Indian Constitution Dr. B R Ambedkar. He said that the Constitution of India is the supreme law of India and the document lays down the framework that demarcates fundamental political code, structure, procedures, powers, and duties of government institutions and sets out fundamental rights, directive principles, and the duties of citizens. He said that it is the longest written constitution of any sovereign country. He also congratulated the students of the college for participation in the seminar on Life and achievements of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. In his welcome address Principal of the college Prof. Sumanesh Jasrotia threw light on the achievements of the college.
He also thanked ACR Rajouri for his maiden visit to the college and encouraging the students of a remote area college. He motivated the students to always take part in such programmes for their better academic growth and development. He also threw light on the achievements of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He said that Constitution of India allows equal respect and recognition for all religions and there is no official religion in India. An individual has the right to practice, propagate and profess any religion.
He said that the Constitution of India is the supreme law of India. Finally an impressive vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Ahsan Ul Rehman Rizvi. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr. Ather Aziz Raina. Overall 10 students took part in the seminar. Simran Naz, Sadia Iram and Atiqa Tabasum were adjudged First, Second and Third respectively. Dr. Imtiaz, Dr. Mukhtiar, Dr. Riaz, Ms. Farzana were the Jury Members. Others present on the occasion were Naib Tehsildar Mr. Rafiq Wani, Dr. Javaid Mir, Dr. Asif, Ms. Mahwish Mr. Altaf, Mr. Abdul Qayoom, Mr. Jameel Ahmed, Mr. Safeer, Mr. Avez and Mr. Saddam. The programme was attended by a large number of students of the college.
