Early Times Report

Poonch, Dec 10: A road constructed under Pardhan Mantari Grameen Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) eight years ago has turned residential houses of some inhabitants unsafe in Mandi tehsil of this border district.
The road constructed in the Azmabad area of Mandi in 2011-12 rendered the residential houses of eight people unsafe. The residents whose houses suffered damages were: Warule Jan widow of Aziz Din, Mohammad Shakeel son of Jalal Din, Nazir Hussain son of Mohammad Din, Hakim Din son of Ludba Reshi, Laysa son of Guma Reshi, Jalal Din son Mohammad Din, Abdul Kabir son of Lal Din and Mohammad Sharief son of Kala Bhat
The compensation files of these houses were prepared by then concerned Junior Engineer and others but later the officials said that the files of these beneficiaries were untraceable. In the second phase compensation files of these houses were prepared again but three beneficiaries were ignored. Five beneficiaries have withdrawn the first installment. The remaining three beneficiaries continue to live in damaged houses.
Executive Engineer PMGSY had said that the demand of the residents was genuine but they can't be compensated without proper documentation.
