| GDC Vijaypur organizes cleanliness drive at Baba Santokh Nath temple | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
SAMBA, Dec 16:NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) in collaboration with ECO Club of GDC Vijaypur organized a cleanliness drive at Baba Santokh Nath temple, Smailpur under the banner of “Clean India Program” to commemorate “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav”.
The programme started with the formal introduction of the event by Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch, NSS (PO) and then the volunteers of the College enthusiastically participated in the Cleaniness Drive in and around the temple.
Furthermore the volunteers along with Prof. Poonam Kundan, Convenor ECO Club actively participated in the interactive session with the villagers to make them aware about the importance of Cleanliness in day- to-day life as Cleanliness is next to godliness.
Some villagers also actively participated in the Cleanliness drive and shared their views with the young volunteers of the College.
The event was organized under the guidance of Dr Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College.
She appreciated the efforts of the volunteers and staff of the College for organizing such events.
In her address, she said that the need of the hour is whole hearted participation from all stakeholders to make country clean and green and appreciated the role of NSS volunteers to create awareness, mobilize masses, ensuring their involvement in cleaning waste, mainly single use plastic waste. |
