Doda, Dec 18: In a dare-devil act the officials —against whom a complaint was filed by a RTI activist allegedly forged the signature of the complainant to get the missive withdrawn.
RTI activist Mohammad Rafi urf Pinka Sheikh of Phagsoo Tehsil had submitted an application asking for records of works executed in all panchayats which fall under IWMP W/Shed Project in Jangalwar area of Thathri in Doda District for the year 2020-21 to 2021-22. The applicant also asked for the photo copies of contingent register, resolution, photographs before start and after completion of work including the details of amount allocated for the work with Gram Sabha photograph where the work was allotted.
The RTI was filed on November 30, 2021. Days after the RTI was filed, the activist also submitted grievance in the grievance cell of LG under grievance ID 999002562015 and 999002562043 which is about the IWMP Project Jangalwar and complainant alleged that the work executed in the 10 panchayats without any Gram Sabha.
The letter also stated that the signature of the activist was forged to seek the withdrawal of the complaint.
“I urge the authorities to lodge an FIR against those officials who forged my signature to ensure withdrawal of the complaint,” Rafi said.
He demanded that the concerned authorities should carry forward the investigation into his complaint so that “the guilty officials involved in looting the public exchequer could be taken to task.”
