Parkash Utsav Guru Gobind Singh to be celebrated on Jan 5

JAMMU, Dec 20: Parkash Utsav (Birthday) of 10th Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh will be celebrated on 5th January, 2022 with traditional gaiety and fervor while a Grand Nagar Kirtan will be taken out on 3rd January, 2022 from Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar, Jammu.
This was informed by Jagjit Singh, President, District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu while addressing a press conference here today.
Addressing the media persons, Jagjit Singh strongly condemned the attempt of desecration in Darbar Sahib, Amritsar and elsewhere in Punjab by certain miscreants and have demanded stern action against all such conspirators.
He informed that keeping in mind the restriction of COVID-19 we have curtailed the route of Nagar Kirtan and have decided new route.
President, DGPC Jammu further requested that devotees are requested to take precautions and follow SOPs issued for COVID-19, i.e. wear masks, keep distance etc. He further requested the public transport system i.e. matador, auto etc. to extend their cooperation by taking alternate routes to reach their destinations. He also requested to the Businessmen' and their Associations to install welcome gates for the Nagar Kirtan (Religious Procession) passing from their markets. He also requested all the religious, social organizations, departments concerned and public at large to extend their wholehearted support and cooperation for the smooth procession of Nagar Kirtan (Religious Procession) and celebrations of Gurupurab.
In the Nagar Kirtan on 3rd January, 2022, devotees in large number will be marching and paying obeisance to the Great Guru. Preacher - Bhai Harjinder Singh Ji Majhi, Bhai Harmeet Singh Ji, Makhanpur Wale, Bhai Nirmal Singh Ji Dhadi Jatha, Bibi Davinder Kour, Bhai Sulakhan Singh Ji Arshi, Bhai Balbir Singh Ji Kamal, Bhai Ranjeet Singh Khalsa, Jagadhari Wale will throw light on the life history of Guru Sahib and recite the Gurbani Kirtan and poetry by poets.
On 5th January, 2022 main function of celebrations will be held at Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar, Jammu from 10.00 am. to 4.00 p.m. Preacher - Bhai Gurdeep Singh Ji Kapurthala Wale, Ragi - Bhai Davinder Singh Ji, Hazoori Ragi Sri Darbar Sahib, Bhai Jasbir Singh Ji Jamalpuri, Hazoori Ragi, Sri Darbar Sahib, Bhai Gurpreet Singh Ji Johal and Local Ragi Jatha Bhai Jagtar Singh Ji, Bhai Randhir Singh Ji and Bhai Surjeet Singh will recite the Gurbani Kirtan & throw light on the life history of Guru Sahib. Guru Ka Langer (Free Blessed Kitchen) will be served.
