| GDC Ukhral organizes River Festival | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAMBAN, Dec 23: Under the flagship program, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Govt Degree College (GDC) Ukhral, organized a week-long River Festival from 15th to 21st December. The programme was organized with the aim of awakening the students and masses regarding our social and environmental duties. The programme was also organized with a view to ensure maximum public participation through Jan Bhagidari. In his welcome address, the Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Ranvijay Singh highlighted the importance of healthier India to become wealthier India. He also focused on Prime Minister’s mission of making India- A disease free and Vibrant Nation.
On 17th of December, 2012, a seminar with the title Water Pollution Causes and Prevention was organized at the college campus. Prof. Zakir Hussain of the host institution highlighted all the minute details of water pollution and its causes. Dr. Altaf Rasool of Department of Education talked about measres of preventing pollution. Many students presented their papers in the seminar.
On 18th December, 2021, the students of the college were taken to the nearby river that flows down through Tehsil Ukhral. The students cleared the filth and removed plastics with the aim of giving the message of importance of cleanliness to the masses. Many students spoke to the gathering present there about the use of proper dust bins and maintaining a good health and hygiene.
On 21st December, 2021, a slogan writing competition was held where in the students of the college highlighted the importance of pure drinking water and making use of water reservoirs. The slogan like Save Water, save Life was highlighted by the students. The whole programme was coordinated by the Convener Sports, Iftikhar Hussain Lone. |
