Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 23: The revenue officials of Akhnoor tehsil have allegedly been facilitating encroachment of state land (Gair Mumkin Khad) in village Palwan. Astonishingly despite repeated orders by the concerned SDM Akhnoor and DC Jammu the encroachment couldn’t be stopped by the revenue officials.
As per documents available with Early Times a complainant, who is resident of village Palwan of tehsil Akhnoor had filed a complaint of encroachment of Gair Mumkin Khad measuring 86 kanals and 15 marlas in Khasra No. 89 with SDM Akhnoor but no action was taken due to junior revenue officials. The encroachers have raised some structures including a shop and a room.
Not only this, even the encroachers started encroaching upon his land in active connivance with revenue officials.
The then SDM Akhnoor directed the Naib Tehsildar to visit the spot and submit the report but concerned Naib Tehsildar didn’t visit the spot and continued to put off the matter even after the lapse of one year.
He further said that he had lodged a complaint in Online Grievance Cell, after that he was threatened by the concerned revenue official for complaining online.
Meanwhile new SDM Akhnoor took over the charge, who adopted strictness and asked the Naib Tehsildar to submit a report.
After seeing strictness, the other party went to court and availed stay on the land wherein accepted the construction was made in State land.
He further said that he had also visited DC Jammu for the redressal of his complaint, who forwarded the complaint to SDM Akhnoor, who further sent it to the same Naib Tehsildar who was creating problems.
After a request to the concerned senior, another revenue official was appointed to look into the matter.
The newly appointed officer was asked to submit a report within a week but it has been more than a month and nothing has been done till date.
