JAMMU, Dec 23: ECO Club of Government Degree College (GDC) Sidhra under the patronage of Principal, Dr. Monika Sharma celebrated National Energy Conservation Week from 16th -22nd December under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.
ECO-Club organized Intra-college activities to spread awareness related to energy conservation. Online Quiz was organized to raise awareness on the cause and a number of students of different semesters participated in the quiz. Besides this, an Inter college Poster making and slogan writing competition on the theme “Save Energy, Save Environment” was also organized. The results of poster making and slogan writing competition were declared today.
The participants were judged by Dr. Harpreet Kour, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science and Prof. Shonima Malhotra, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology of the college.
In Slogan writing competition, first position was secured by Anamika Verma of B.A Sem III, while Pallavi Devi of B.A Sem III was adjudged at second position and the third position was secured by Khalid Hussain of B.A Sem I of the college. In Poster making competition, Ranjan Kumar of B. A Sem I bagged first position; Deepak Nischal of B. Com Sem V secured second position while the third position was secured by Ritika Sharma of B.A Sem I of the college.
Principal, Dr. Monika Sharma congratulated the meritorious students as well as the student participants for their participation in the event with full enthusiasm.
The event was organized by Dr. Anshu Gupta, Convener and Prof. Deepa Kak, co-convener, ECO Club. The event was successful with the coordination of Prof. Meesha Bhagat, member of ECO Club of the college. |
