| GDC Pouni celebrates Dogri Manyta Divas | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
POUNI, Dec 23: Department of Dogri, in collaboration with Languages Department of Government Degree College (GDC) Pouni celebrated “Dogri Manyta Divas” under the presence of Prof. Rajni Bhagat, Principal of this Institution who was the chief guest of this programme too. Dr Tarseem Kumar HOD, Dogri started the programme by a welcoming speech commemorating the well reputed Dogra artists and widely known Dogra Culture and tradition. The welcoming speech was followed by Dogri poetic verses reiterated by the students of GDC Pouni. The Program was followed by the cultural items of students depicting importance of Mother tongue .The Cultural items was performed by Balvinder Singh, Pooja Devi, Jasdeep Singh, Shammi Kumar and Deeksha Sharma. HODs of various languages Departments also put forth their viewpoints regarding mother tongue and shared their cultural experiences pertaining to their own regions. Prof. Rajni Bhagat, the esteemed principal, very well talked about the importance of mother tongue and encouraged the students present there to spread more and more awareness about the regional language, and happily accept the mother tongue. The programme came to an end with the vote of thanks given by HOD English, U.S Liza who extended a hearty vote of thanks to our Chief Guest and all the professors. |
