DDC Rajouri reviews performance of Rural Development Department

RAJOURI, Dec 26: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today asked for timely execution of rural sector works, generation of adequate persondays and timely payment of wages under the flagship rural employment schemes.
He was chairing a meeting of the concerned officers to review the performance of the Rural Development Department.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Sachin Dev Singh; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; ExEn REW, Bashir Ahmed and Block Development Officers.
The DDC reviewed progress under Prime Minister's Awas Yojna (Gramin); MGNREGA, Works taken up under Area Development Fund, Annual District Capex budget Plan, progress on construction of border Bunkers, B2V.
He also sought details about person-days generation, aadhar seeding, wage payments, tendering of works and Geo-tagging of assets.
The meeting was informed that out of targeted 30661 PMAY (G) houses for the current financial year, the work on 11242 stands completed, while out of 1867 border bunkers, 1497 have been completed. The DDC asked for expediting the pace of work on PMAY Houses as well as Bunkers for their timely completion.
Taking a strong nore of deficit in generation of persondays in some blocks, he asked the concerned to meet the shortfall by the end of this month. He further directed the BDOs to ensure timely payment of wages in favour of the job card holders. Strict action against the non performing officials was also stressed upon.
Reviewing the execution of works, it was informed that out of 2519 proposed works, the tenders for 2228 works have been floated.
Taking serious note of low allotment rate, the DDC asked the ExEn REW to expedite the allotment.
He further asked for achieving 100 percent Aadhar Seeding of beneficiaries of different schemes and the geo-tagging of all the completed assets.
