JAMMU, Jan 1: Expressing his shock over the incident of stampede at Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, that left twelve devotees dead and several others injured, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri today said this was a very unfortunate incident that has sent shock waves across the nation and needs a thorough probe so that the guilty could be punished.
Raman Suri sought adequate compensation for the next of kin of the deceased persons and asked the government as well as shrine board authorities to take care of the injured persons. He said, the exact cause of the incident must also be made known to the public so that this is not repeated ever. He said, this incident is the most unfortunate, especially when Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDB) authorities claim of having adequate arrangements made at the Cave Shrine. He asked the SMVDB authorities to re-check all arrangements and also conduct a safety audit so that no such incident is ever repeated in the future. There are several areas that need re-modelling and some changes, so that devotees don't feel such type of trouble ever and can have safe darshan at the Cave Shrine. |
